FOUR FULPER ART POTTERY PIECES Flemington, NJ, circa 1915-1929, black printed oblong uppercase vertical marks to the first two, black printed uppercase mark to the vase, including a conical bowl with everted rim, blue flambe glazed interior, the exterior matte brown; a trophy vase, recorded as model no. 724, of flattened trumpet form with everted rim, flanked by scroll handles, high gloss dark to light chocolate brown glazes; a flower frog, naturalistically modeled as a mushroom, matte ivory cap and high gloss blue glaze stem; and an unmarked inverted pear shaped vase, the rolled rim enriched in iridescent mirror black glaze, the body in high gloss light brown, tan and green, glazes, h: 8 in. Provenance: Estate of Ronald Sperling

Literature: In 1927, Fulper accepted a commission to supply G.B. Raffetto, Inc., NY, with bespoke honey jars. Jars from this commission are often impressed Rafco. Though the present example is unmarked, the production techniques are highly characteristic of this 'jobber'. It is perhaps a prototype.
