Literature: From 1904-1914, James S. Taft's son-in-law, Cadman Robertson, was the driving force and production manager at Hampshire Pottery. He was responsible for the development of more than 900 glazes, including Hampshire's coveted matte brown, red, blue and green glazes. The M in a circle mark is found on pieces designed by him and is said to be a tribute to his wife and Taft's daughter, Emoretta.
