This work is after the watercolor by Latrobe "St. John's Episcopal Church, Lafayette Square, Washington D.C." in the collection of St. John's Church (illustrated in Latrobe's View of America, 1795-1820, pgs. 340-341 ). There is another copy of St. John's Latrobe at the New-York Historical Society Museum & Library acc. no. 1976.64 that appears to be by the same hand.
