19th/20th Century, impressed monogram and scepter mark and various cyphers. Finely painted after Conrad Kiesel with the portrait of a young woman holding a holiday music score; impressed KPM and scepter to reverse, impressed numerals 237/158, and pencil marks 'R.B. Barnes/Clarissa/Kessel'

Catalogue note:
An engraving of this portrait by Conrad Kiesel was published in the Illustrated London News, No. 2589, December 1, 1888. The subject closely relates to his well known work, ‘The Duet' which was illustrated in the magazine Moderne Kunst (Modern Art), published by Richard Bong, 1892-1893, Year VII, No 4, Christmas Issue, Berlin.
