Note: Aimé Barraud was one of four artistically-talented brothers, who were referred to as "Switzerland's best kept secret." Aimé was known for his hard edge style of painting characteristic of the Neue Sachlichkeit school, which rose to prominence in the German-speaking world after the First World War. His paintings are considered important examples of European modernism from the 1920s and 1930s.
