Catalog note:
Alexandre Lunois was a French painter, lithographer, and illustrator best known for his vibrant scenes of everyday life and his contributions to the revival of color lithography in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was a student of Gustave Moreau. Influenced by the Impressionists and the Nabis, Lunois often depicted urban street scenes, cabarets, and popular entertainments with a lively, modern touch. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and was commissioned to illustrate numerous books and periodicals of the time. His lithographs remain admired for their rich color and spirited style, capturing the atmosphere of Parisian life.
