the heavy glass vase with a small thick base and flaring sides tapering to a smaller lip, etched with a design of the Capitol to one side and the White House to the other, with a script inscription "Inaugural Luncheon/ United States Capitol/ January 20, 2009", unsigned

Catalogue Note:
This vase is designed by Paula Skene, an artist in Emeryville, California, and handcrafted by Evergreen Crystal of Montrose, Colorado. These vases were given to attendees of the Inaugural Luncheon held in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol. This piece sat in the Justice's chambers atop the fireplace mantle.
