Bawa Ushafa (Nigerian, b. 1930) tall vessel with four lugs, tenmoku and kaki glazes with pale glaze drips, incised and banded decoration, impressed mark on lower edge B.U.A.

Catalogue note:
Bawa Ushafa was the first trainee at the Abuja Pottery. He was senior potter of the ten throwers working at Abuja with Michael Cardew in the early 1960s.
