one jug stamped 'O.L. A.K. BALLARD BURLINGTON, VT2', mark of Orrin and Alfred Ballard who ran the family pottery business and used this stamp from 1856-1867, h: 14 1/2 in. (see William Ketchum, Jr. "American Stoneware", p.46); a four gallon crock, probably 1880, with a "spitting blossom", h: 19 3/4 in.; and a jug with target decoration, probably Red Wing Minnesota, h: 11 3/4 in. (3)
