C.W. PARKER BLACK PAINTED CAROUSEL HORSE, CIRCA 1900 the horse with bridle, saddle, and polychrome painted blanket on black body in a jumper pose mounted on wood stand with etched metal plaque reading: "This carousel horse was salvaged from the debris of hurricane 'Camille' that swept through Biloxi, Miss. August 17,1969. The carousel was made by the C.W. Parker Co. of Leavenworth, Kansas circa 1900 and was owned by the Gulfport - Biloxi Amusement Park. Restored by Milton & Ralph Thompson 1978"

Note:
Charles Wallace Parker created his first carousel in the 1890s in Abilene, Kansas, but he later moved the growing company to Leavenworth, Kansas. There are a number of C.W. Parker carousels still operating throughout the country, as well as the C.W. Parker Carousel Museum located in Leavenworth. h:54 w:49 d:10 in.
