Catalogue note: Charles H. Richert was born in Boston. He studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School and under the Boston School artists Joseph De Camp, Ernest Major, and R. Andrew. Richert taught art at the Rindge Technical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts School of Art. He exhibited at major art venues including the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the National Academy of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Boston Art Club. Collections: Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco; Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indianapolis; and Farnsworth Art Museum, Rockland, Maine.
