the delicately carved fan, centered by a script 'W' in a shield, with a continuous scene of figures in garden settings, the rounded upper sections carved with flowers and foliage, with twenty-six carved ivory sticks and a pair of guard sticks (one showing) with scattered Buddhistic emblems, all joined by a length of ribbon, in rectangular shadow bod

  • Dimensions: Width of fan (sight size): 17 1/4 in. (43.8 cm.)
  • Condition: Please note examined from shadowbox. Outer end stick (visible in frame) oxidized and faded compared to fan sticks. Stick #2 has tiny loss to left side (edge of house); stick#4-5 slight discoloration at bottom of stick. Stick#10-top near flowers tiny thread separating. Stick#23-small black spot middle section. Stick#26-small discoloration in middle section-could be oxidation. Note: lighting and flash make end stick appear darker than it is.
