    Catalogue note:
    This plate is thought to have been part of a service acquired by Nathaniel Barrell of York, Maine while in England in the early 1760s and given to him by his father-in-law, Jonathan Sayward. An example is illustrated in "A Choice Sortment", "Ceramics from New England Homes", (1981) no. 45, SPNEA 1981.
