CHINESE GLAZED AND POLYCHROMED PROCESSIONAL GROUP, MING DYNASTY comprising two horses with riders, their arms raised to carry the sedan chair, the horses and riders with polychrome traces - h: 13 1/2 in.; and the sedan chair glazed in tones of aubergine, turquoise and brown - h: 10 1/2 in. (3)

Provenance: Sold with a Certificate from Arch Angel Antiques, dated 12 January 2002, stating that the Sedan Chair dates from the Ming dynasty and was found in Shan'xi. The pair of equestrian figures were bought from Po Yuen Tong, and were guaranteed to date from the Ming dynasty, and were also found in Shan'xi. The glazes to all three items match.
