Description:

CHINESE GOLD-GLAZED TEAPOT, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
the pot of globular form with upturned spout and rounded raised handle, the cover possibly a replacement with arched finial with four spikes, all covered in a variegated gold glaze

Catalogue note:
Bearing old label stating that this piece is Qianlong.

  • Condition: Small flake to underside of handle, appears to be indentation from the making of this pot. Small shallow chip to interior rim of cover. Not 100% sure cover is original because fit is a bit loose, but color matches well. Gil to both pieces burnished and oxydized. Wear to gilt on side of spout. Abrasion and soiling under base of teapot. Looks as if there is a tiny bit of old paint, but do not see any damage.
