CHINESE SANG-DE-BOEUF-GLAZED BOTTLE VASE, KANGXI PERIOD, BY DESCENT FROM THE HAVEMEYER COLLECTION, NEW YORK the tall tapering neck rising from the globular body and raised on a straight circular foot, and glazed in a deep copper-red color at the rim developing to deeper, richer shades of red that stops short of the foot ring - h:17.25 in.

Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Havemeyer, until 1929 (likely acquired in the 19th Century)
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Havemeyer 1929 until 1982.
Then by descent to the present owner.

Literature: A copper red vase of this form is in Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
