COMMEMORATIVE WWI NEEDLEWORK OF BELGIAN RELIEF ON FLOUR SACK, DATED 1914-1918 featuring an American eagle clutching Belgian and American flagging, holding banner saying "A friend in need, a friend indeed", a quote taken from Aesop's Fables, with date of "1914 - 1918," done onto a flour sack with blue printed lettering "Belgian Relief Flour" and "Wisconsin," done after World War I by Belgians in gratitude for American servicemen who aided them in defeating the Germans, with lace borders, h: 36 3/4 x w: 27 3/4 in.
