attributed in Pierre-Joseph Boch, Septfontaine, Luxembourg, the silver-shaped oval tureen with sturdy bamboo-molded bracket handles, the conforming cover with a bursting pomegranate finial, each piece centering floral bouquets, the shaped borders with foliate sprays, within blue dentil/dotted rims (3)

    Based on these early prototypes, the 20th Century pattern at Villeroy & Boch is titled 'Vieux Septfontaine'. Note this form was also produced at Pont-aux-Choux.
  • Dimensions: Tureen: h: 9 in (22.9 cm.); w: 13 in. (33 cm.), Stand: 15 in. (38.1 cm.); w: 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.)
  • Condition: Very faint fissure on cover, small grey oxidation (?) spots interior of bowl, stand with some staining and oxidation, very dirty
