CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A YOUNG MAIDEN SPINSTRESS late 19th Century, spurious blue crossed swords and dot mark, black painted Exp-on de Vienne / Autriche / 1873 mark, depicted in 19th Century detailed textile dress, modeled standing holding a gather of wool, distaff and spindle, h: 17 in.

Possibly depicting a 19th Century interpretation of the mythological figure Clotho. As the youngest of the Three Fates, she is usually depicted holding a spindle and spins the thread of life.
