cast in the Rococo Revival style, the ovoid body with a band of flowers and foliage to the shoulder, with scrolling spout and carved wood handle, fruiting finial with leafy medallion to domed top with beaded border, all atop a pedestal base with beaded borders, marked twice under foot, interior of foot rim with inscription "Sarah H Baldy, 1820", 36.5 ozt

Catalogue Note:
Sarah Hurley Baldy (1791-1875), was a native of Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Her father, Daniel Hurley, was an early settler there. In about 1820, she married Peter Baldy Sr., who became the first president of the Danville National Bank. He also helped establish the Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in 1828. The family resided in a large, Italianate house at 338 Mill Street, which still stands today, now converted to apartments.
