the rectangular veined white marble top above a frieze drawer over a secretary door flanked by disengaged colonettes over a drawer fitted at the sides with slides on trestle base with twin disengaged colonettes centering a kneehole, the reverse fitted with adjustable shelves and fitted at the sides with doors masked as drawers

    Sold by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to benefit acquisition and conservation funds. Estate of Julian Wood Glass, Jr. (1910-1992) of Winchester, Virginia; New York, New York; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • Dimensions: 54 1/2 x 37 1/2 x 20 in. (138.43 x 95.25 x 50.80 cm.)
  • Condition: Interior fallboard hinges have broken out from case resulting in wood loss and are unstable, fallboard cannot be left open without external support, looking glass in writing compartment is not attached on left side, molding on proper-left candle slide is broken but remains attached, gilt mounts are loose and some have completely detached (original brads for which are now missing), mahogany is cracked in several places and bleached due to light damage
