signed HG March, Rue Richelieu, movement initialed 'T.N.', the arched dial applied with lyre and flanked by figurines of Cupid and Psyche on a stepped plinth applied with flaring garlands on winged paw feet

    Sold by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to benefit acquisition and conservation funds. Estate of Julian Wood Glass, Jr. (1910-1992) of Winchester, Virginia; New York, New York; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • Dimensions: Height: 22 1/2 in. (57.15 cm.)
  • Condition: Ormolu surface is pitted throughout, but especially where decoration is applied and throughout the back, numerals on clock face are worn, bezel meant to conceal and protect back of movement is missing, some oxidation to the patinated bronze figures
