ENGLISH CREAMWARE ‘TORTOISESHELL’ TEA-CADDY AND TWO ENGLISH MOTTLED SHAPED-CIRCULAR PLATES
circa 1770, Staffordshire, of Whieldon type, the canted rectangular form tea-caddy, splashed overall in brown, green, blue and ochre-yellow, h: 4 3/4 in.; the plate borders molded with trellis and diaper scrollwork cartouches alternating with basketweave, one mottled in blue, green and brown, the other in ochre-yellow, blue, green, brown and manganese, dia: 9 1/4 in.
