Exhibitions: Ernest Trova was a self-taught American surrealist painter and sculptor from St. Louis. His works have been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, as well as three Whitney Annuals and three Venice Biennales. He is best known for his “Falling Man”series of which their are many variations on the same theme. Trova was represented by Pace Gallery in New York from 1963 to 1985, and they held his first solo exhibition in 1963. Trova’s gift of forty of his works led to the opening of St. Louis County, Missouri’s Laumeier Sculpture Park.
