FOUR CHINESE EXPORT TEA WARES, 18TH CENTURY
including a pear-form cream jug and cover, painted 'en grisaille' with a European subject putto and rockery below a band of seascape and rockery with rope twist borders, plain C-form handle, the cover with gilt bud-form finial, h: 5 1/4 in.; a famille rose and iron-red decorated tea bowl and saucer dish, all painted with small floral bouquets within rope twist borders; and a tea bowl with two iron-red bouquets, the interior centered by a single flowerhead and rope twist band to interior rim, dia: 3 7/8 in.     From the Isaac Eaton House, Mount Gilead, Virginia, and by descent
  • Condition: Domed cover to cream jug totally repainted and paint has yellowed. Tea bowl to bowl and saucer has rim chip and wear to enamels. Fine quality painting to cream jug and tea bowl and saucer dish.
