FOUR GEORGIAN SILVER OPEN SALTS, LONDON 1726 AND 1727
three marked for Edward Wood and one, DH, each marked under base, each of raised cut-cornered rectangular form with a dished central section, two with monograms under base, 6.53 ozt. (4)

    From the Isaac Eaton House, Mount Gilead, Virginia; and by descent
  • Dimensions: w. across bases: 3 in.
  • Condition: Please not salts in third photo are not yellow, but proper silver color.
    3 E. Wood salts: All three have small areas of dings to center, and small black spots. One with small ding to one short side. Abrasion to feet due to age and use.
    DH salt: Larger dings to dished interior than three EW examples. Small ding by one lower corner. Again, foot ring has abrasion consistent with use and age. However, pattern of all four matches. Three bear old monograms (differing) under bases.
