FOUR UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA SCHOOL OF MINES ART POTTERY SMALL VASES / CHALMERS / VERL CLARK / JULIA MATTSON / FLORA CABLE HUCKFIELD Grand Forks, ND, most circa 1930-40 with printed indigo medallion mark, the ribbed bowl slightly later, all signed; the first, with incised artist's signature Chalmers, the side boldly incised with a wave pattern, graduated blue-ivory glazes; the second, incised Verl Clark, of ribbed cylindrical form, high gloss blue glaze, dia: 5 in.; the third, elliptical with incised 13 3693, flanking the artist's initials JM for Julia Mattson molded with a dice pattern band at the shoulder, high gloss subtly graduated blue glaze; and the fourth, spherical, with a printed indigo and impressed U.N.D. mark, incised 51 24, and artist's inscription C Huck for Flora Cable Huckfield, molded with a band of prairie rose at the shoulder, high gloss grey resist and burnt orange glazes (4)
