Catalogue note:
Guy C. Wiggins was an American impressionist painter most known for his pictures of snowy winter New York City streets. Wiggins' first artistic training was from his father Carleton, a noted painter of landscapes and cattle. Later, he attended the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, Art Students League, and the National Academy of Design School. Over the course of his career he was a member of the National Academy, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and the Old Lyme Art Colony, where he painted alongside Childe Hassam, and Frank Vincent DuMond.
