HORACE GREELEY, AUTOGRAPHED LETTER SIGNED, 1853 autographed letter signed ("Horace Greeley"), three pages, on a bifolium, New York, July 14, 1853. To an unknown recipient, regarding the Religious Corporation(?) Act and discussing the content of the [New York] Post newspaper and a writer by the name of Baily. Greeley states: "Baily would rather serve God than Satan at the same wages, for which I honor him; but he is so adroit and prudent that I fear the latter employer gets the most out of him for the money. However, I favor prudence, especially that which makes an Anti-slavery paper flourish in Washington..."
