Includes letters to book owner, Charles George Milnes-Gaskell, a British politician, whose bookplate is affixed to the front pastedown. The letters detail Milnes-Gaskell's interest in learning more about Day's family and 'shield', also with an example of the shield facing the title page with the inscription "granted 1582 to Day of London"
