JAPANESE INLAID LACQUER TRAY IN THE MOMOYAMA TASTE the tray of octagonal shape with raised sides, each side revealing a shaped area of finely woven basketwork, the center with a design of inlaid mother of pearl as a cockerel and his hen by houses and beneath flowering trees of prunus, pine and wisteria, the sides further inlaid with mother of pearl flowers - h:2 w:13.50 in.
