LARGE BROCATELLE TEXTILE FABRIC AND BRAID FROM THE CURTAIN PANEL AT HM KING GEORGE VI'S 1937 CORONATION AT WESTMINSTER ABBEY, FRAMED fragment of the fabric draped on the sides along the processional way of the Coronation, silk and gilt thread brocatelle with applied mitred braid border, the fabric design includes oak leaves, fleur-de-lis, Tudor roses and the Crown. After the ceremony, the fabric and braid were cut into pieces and offered to organizations and churches; the remaining pieces were then offered for individual sale; fabric measures h: 35.5 x w: 48 in.; includes original typed letter of the sale from The Controller of Supplies, dated June 15, and an original copy of "The Illustrated London News/Coronation/Record Number/1937" (3)
