LARGE CHINESE CREAM-GLAZED TONGQI WARE SEATED BUDDHA ON LOTUS BASE, POSSIBLY EARLY MING DYNASTY sealed on the back HeXiao, and with dedicatory inscription across the back "It was erected in the second month of the Spring of the first year of the Jian wen Emperor (1399) by the order of Madam Cheng of the Chu family, Xinjiang Province, to whom she respectfully worshipped", the deity seated cross-legged on a tiered pagoda type base and wearing flowing robes that bared his chest exposing a swastika (a wish for 10,000 years of longevity) and with one hand raised and holding a pearl of wisdom, covered in a creamy yellow buff-toned glaze with slight overall craquelure -
