Active in New York and Connecticut, Genth is most well known for her paintings of female nudes in idyllic outdoor settings. She had a large estate in the Berkshire Mountains in Connecticut named 'Hermitcliff', where she was able to paint her female models uninterrupted. The artist loved her estate and said, "The things I have learned have come from the soil in the depths of my woods in Connecticut."
