Hippolyte-Edme Pretot (1812-1855) worked at 16 Rue de L'Abbaye in 1836 and 11 bis Rue St. Germain until 1846 where he moved to 3 Rue Harlay. He participated in the National Exposition of 1849 and the London Exposition of 1852 where he received a medal for his marquetry. His firm was purchased by Frederic Roux upon his death.
