MEISSEN PICTORIAL MILK JUG AND TEA BOWL AND SAUCER, 18TH/19TH CENTURY the milk jug having a white ground with central oval reserve polychrome decorated with two figures approaching a village within gilt and pink diaper border, the complementary lid surmounted by a flower finial, h: 5 in.; the tea bowl and saucer, painted with harbor scene reserves, the tea bowl iron red painted 10 on underside, the saucer with underglaze blue crossed swords mark and painted 11 in gilt, h: (of tea bowl) 1.75 in.; together with a similar saucer, with underglaze blue crossed swords mark and painted 1 in gilt, polychrome decorated with cartouche of a shepherd in a landscape after a hunt with dead stag at his side, dia: 4.75 in.
