MEISSEN PORCELAIN COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE FIGURE OF CAPITANO SPAVENTO AND TWO MEISSEN PORCELAIN PUTTI EMBLEMATIC OF THE SEASONS late 19th/20th Century, Capitano, incised 1063, impressed 52 and painted 48, after a model by P. Reinicke of circa 1745 from the series originally made for the Duke of Weissenfels, depicted standing with his gloved hands behind his back and at his hip, in a grey tricorn hat, striped waistcoat, pale yellow jacket and breeches, bright pink hose and yellow buckle shoes, the circular base applied with flowers, h: 5 3/8 in.; the two Seasons, with blue crossed swords marks, Winter with incision and possibly outside-decorated, incised model nos. A.71 and A.67, impressed 8 and 146, painted 12 and 10, after models by J.J. Kaendler, each depicted standing, Winter in fur-lined cloak and skates, Summer with blue drape, holding wheat and a scythe, both on a gilt line mound base, both h: 5.5 in. (3)
