An original furnishing of Winterham, built in 1848 in Amelia County, Va., by John Garland Jefferson II, who lived there until his death in 1871. The house was designed by his cousin Thomas Tabb Giles of Richmond, son of Governor William Branch Giles.

John Garland Jefferson II left Winterham and its furnishings to his son, John Garland Jefferson III (1858-1949) and it remained in the family through the descendants of John Garland Jefferson IV, who sold the furnishings that remained in 1991-1992.
