Four bound volumes enclosed in original folding case; authenticated by Jiangsu Di Yi Library as being a Ming book; with famous Ming Dynasty collector seal of Xiang Zi Jing
First volume includes "Duan Xi Yan Pu" compiled by Yi Ming and Song Jian Yan, 1127-1162; "Yan Pu", and "She Zhou Yan Pu"
Second volume includes: "Yan Shi" compiled by Mi Fu (1051-1107), "Gujin Dao Jian Lu Bing Xu" compiled by Tao Hong Jing (456-536)
3rd book includes: "Gaozhong Huangdi Yu Zhe Han Mo Zhi" 1107-1187, "Shu Pu Juan Shang" compiled by Sun Guo Ting (648-703) in which Xie Bian Ba (1172-1251) corrected 35 characters in 1208; "Xushu Pu Bing Xu" compiled by Yi Jiang Kui (1155-1209).
4th book includes: :"Xiang Pu Shangxia Er Juan" with insert by Jiangsu Library. 10 various collectors seals including the famous Ming Dynasty collector Xiang Zi Jing


Provenance: Asian book collection of over one hundred lots from the personal library of Wang Jiyuan (1893-1975) including many from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Together with 10 pieces of calligraphy dedicated to him by Yun Yufren, Wang Fang Yu, Tan Yan Kai, and Liu Jiang Duan. Wang Jiyuan was an established watercolorist and oil painter by 1919, and founded the renowned Tien Ma Society in Shanghai with Liu Haisu to promote Western Style. In the 1920s he lived in Europe and in the early 1940s he moved to the United States and established the School of Chinese Brushwork in New York. Wang Jiyuan was a colleague of many well-known Chinese artists, including Chang Dai-Chien, Wang Yachen, and Pan Yuliang.
