Neale & Co. Greek Revival pearlware jug, circa 1798, the ovoid body with grooved neck, engine-turned base and angular strap handle, the body printed in the Greek Attic red-figure style with three mythological circular panels, including pair of mythological figures of Eos and Cephalos and Dionysus and a maenad, a third slightly smaller medallion under the spout, of a female dancer holding a tambourine

All three designs on the present jug are based on colored engravings after Sir William Hamilton's collection, published by Baron d'Hancarville as the ‘Collection of Etruscan, Greek and Roman Antiquities of Sir William Hamilton...1766-67'
