NORTH AMERICAN MALE DALL SHEEP TAXIDERMY HALF MOUNT WITH WOOD PLATFORM, JONAS BROS./JAMES L. CLARK
with thick curving horns (horns approx. l: 40 in.) inhabiting the subarctic mountain ranges of Alaska, the Yukon Territory, the Mackenzie Mountains in the western Northwest Territories, and northern British Columbia, preferring dry country and steep, rugged terrain to protect from predators who cannot travel as adeptly over it as the sheep (this sheep was caught in British Columbia).

Catalogue note:
Animals in the Howard Sykes safari collection were meticulously preserved by renowned taxidermist James L. Clark, director of arts, preparation and installation of animals for the American Museum of Natural History, and the famed Jonas Brothers Taxidermy Studio. The trophies were housed at the Sykes family's New York estate, Appledoorn Farm, in a specially designed trophy cottage from 1937.
