PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY BRONZE FIGURES OF WILLIAM CAXTON (1415-1491) AND PROBABLY JAMES WATT (1736-1819) one figure represents the British printer, merchant and diplomat William Caxton (1415-1491), based on a woodcut in the National Portrait Gallery in London which also features the same initials found on his stamp 'W.Y.C'.; the other figure probably represents James Watt (1736-1819), a Scottish inventor, mechanical engineer and chemist who developed the Watt steam engine - h:39 in.
