in the Adam style, of flattened and shaped columnar form all atop spreading oval bases, with reeded bands at base and shoulders, one with oval bobeche and the other with circular bobeche, with degraded metal plate under base, and one with faded list under base

Catalogue note:
According to the owner, these candlesticks were at one time at Mount Vernon and could have been there during the residency of President George Washington.

    Property of Washington Family descendants;
    By descent in the Washington-Chew family of Charles Town, WV, to the present owner
  • Dimensions: Height: 11 1/2 in. (29.2 cm.), Width of base: 6 in. (15.2 cm.)
  • Condition: Substantial wear to both, extensive rosing,. Encrustation inside both candle cups. Metal plates under bases degraded to both. One with faded attached tag under, listing names and dates of provenance.
