PAIR OF WEDGWOOD & BENTLEY DEEP-BLUE LAYERED JASPERWARE OVAL PORTRAIT MEDALLIONS OF GEORGE III (1738-1820) AND QUEEN CHARLOTTE (1744-1818) circa 1776-1778, impressed Wedgwood & Bentley, after a model by Isaac Gosset, the reliefs by William Hackwood, applied in white relief with opposing half-length profile portraits, he with ribbon-tied coif and shoulder riband, his ermine-lined cloak with a Badge of the Order of the Garter, identified below 'GEO III'; she with pearl dressed hair and triple necklace suspending a portrait medallion most probably of him, in a 'jeweled' and ruffled bodice gown and ermine cloak, titled below 'Q. CHARLOTTE' h: 3 1/2 in. within inlaid Boulle marquetry frames, h: 4 1/2 in. (2)
