signed on the base 'Paul. W. Bartlett Sc. Paris 1897' and titled 'Columbus' along front edge, also marked 'THE HENRY-BONNARD BRONZE CO FOUNDER'S N.Y. 1899', he holds a map of Europe and Africa

The life size statue is prominently displayed along the balustrade of The Library of Congress, Thomas Jefferson Building, Washington, D.C.

The only other small example noted is listed as being in the collection of the Norton Museum of Art, Shreveport, Louisiana 71106/ References: Index of American Sculpture, University of Delaware, 1985

  • Condition: Right arm cast separately and the connecting pin has broken (so arm needs to be reattached), a few minor scratches
