Catalogue note:
Philip Duane Jamison was a well known and critically acclaimed watercolor artist. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy during the war, after which he attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art. Jamison was active in exhibiting his works in Pennsylvania as well as in Maine, where he summered. In 1980, he authored his first book, Capturing Nature in Watercolor, that expressed his personal philosophy of art and the discovery of watercolor painting as his medium of choice. There was an exhibition of his works at the Chester County Art Association in 2011 titled "Philip Jamison: Watercolors." Collections: Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Delaware Art Museum.
