POTTHAST BROTHERS METROPOLITAN MODEL MAHOGANY INLAID SIDEBOARD, BALTIMORE MD, CIRCA 1953 the bowfront top on conforming frieze with long drawer flanked by two short drawers surmounting compartments enclosed by shaped doors centering recessed center compartment enclosed by double doors, all resting on square tapered legs, stringing and paterae inlay throughout, h: 41.5 w: 72 x d: 27.25 in.

Note:
Potthast Brothers, Inc. created a line of furniture based on pieces in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in the 1940s. The sideboard which was the inspiration for this one was deaccessioned at Christie's, Important American Furniture, Silver, Folk Art, and Decorative Art, New York, June 19, 1996, lot 179.
