RAFI LANDAU SILVER KIDDISH CUP AND AN UNDERTRAY both marked 925 in tablet and with Rafi Landau mark, the beaker with flaring sides and a repousse design of a stone surface with a band of fruiting grape clusters at rim, inset with four oval porcelain plaques designed by Boris Schutz (1889-1932) of various archetypes of men, each with a Hebrew inscription, gilt washed interior, h: 6.2 in.; and a circular dish, with 925 and Rafi Landau marks, with central well encircled by ten trapezoidal porcelain plaques, each with a design of various frightening scenes each separated by a C-scroll and set on a matted ground, dia: 10.25 in. (2)

Literature: Rafi Landau studied industrial design and jewelry at the famous Bezalel Academy of Arts. His workshop is in Kfar Adumim, a village in the Judean Desert, near Jerusalem. The porcelain plaques were designed by Boris Schatz (1866-1932), a sculptor and designer who founded the Bezalel School in Jerusalem.
