  • Provenance: Karl Richard Klemm set up his own porcelain decorating studio in 1869. There were approximately 40 decorating studios in the Dresden area. Richard Klemm, along with Helena Wolfsohn, Karl Thiem, Ambrosius Lamm and Donath & Co., were among the most sought after porcelain decorating studios at this time. He used gold leaf to hide the marks of the origin of the blanks that he decorated.
