STAFFORDSHIRE BLACK-GLAZED FOOTED CREAM JUG AND A WEDGWOOD DARK-CHOCOLATE JASPERWARE SMALL ‘VIOLET’ BASKET AND COVER
circa 1770-1780, the silver-form pear-shaped jug, of Jackfield type, with everted undulating rim and strap handle, glazed inside and out in black, h: 5 1/2 in.; the two-handled basket, early 19th Century, impressed uppercase mark and O, with trace gilding in the mark and iron-red painter’s mark :., molded as basketweave and applied with a grapevine garland enameled in iron-red to resemble terracotta, the pierced cover with entwined handle and leaf terminals similarly enriched, the glazed interior with four stilts to receive the cover, h: 2 1/2 x w: 4 in.
